Update on HJK Cup arrangements, May 2020

The restrictions in the Finnish society are gradually being lifted from the beginning of June and ie. the official youth football leagues are starting soon, mid-June.

Yesterday The Finnish FA / Palloliitto released the updated instructions for youth football tournament arrangements during the current COVID-19 situation. The instructions call for extra attention on hygiene, scheduling and other conditions during the event so we’ll of course be extra mindful with these things.

The most important thing is that HJK Cup will be arranged as planned, in September 2020, on the original dates ūüôĆ.

HJK Cup 2020 confirmed international teams: PSV Eindhoven, Zenit, IF Brommapojkarna, Djurgårdens IF, Vasalunds IF, IFK Lidingö, Stockholm Juniors Football Club, Nacka Football Club, FC Flora and FC Santos.

Swedish top teams IF Brommapojkarna, Djurg√•rdens IF, Vasalunds IF, Nacka FC and Stockholm Juniors FC confirmed their participation earlier and we’re also very happy to host FK Zenit teams from St. Petersburg again in all age groups, from U9 to U13.

What is HJK Cup?

HJK Cup 2020 is an international Academy level youth football tournament that will be played in Helsinki, Finland in September 4th-6th 2020.

The tournament offers quality matches on good artificial turf and natural grass pitches ‚Äď and a great atmosphere in downtown Helsinki. The playing modes and times are:

  • U9: born 1.1.2011 or later, 8 v 8, 2 x 15 minutes
  • U10: born 1.1.2010 or later, 8v8, 2 x 15 minutes
  • U11: born 1.1.2009 or later, 8v8, 2 x 15 minutes
  • U12: born 1.1.2008 or later, 11v11, 2 x 20 minutes
  • U13: born 1.1.2007 or later, 11v11, 2 x 20 minutes
